About Us
The Melos Saxophone Quartet first formed at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2019. Since then they have honed their craft; enjoying tutelage from some of the finest woodwind chamber musicians in the UK including John Harle, Christian Forshaw, Naomi Sullivan and Joy Farrall.
Recent highlights include being awarded the opportunity to perform a Quartet Concerto with the Guildhall Symphonic Wind Orchestra in 2023 and the quartet's week-long residency at The Jersey Academy of Music; performing, arranging and running workshops and classes through the Academy's summer course for ages 5-18.
The Melos Saxophone Quartet is passionate about the versatility of the saxophone and its continuing relevance as a contemporary artistic voice. Their most recent programme spans Dvorak, 20th Century impressionism and four new works from the last decade: including an exclusive new work by Christian Forshaw and a new piece by Aidan May - the quartet's soprano saxophonist.
The Melos Saxophone Quartet principally performs public recitals, but is also available for recording sessions and to book for private entertainment; with exceptional experience delivering entertainment and ceremonial accompaniment for City of London Livery Company Dinners.
