Second-hand Vandoren Optimum AL3 Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece
My second-hand Vandoren Optimum AL3 alto saxophone mouthpiece.
A very classical-focused mouthpiece with a medium-long facing curve and narrow tip opening (1.52mm).
Suited to slightly harder classical reeds (Vandoren V12, Traditional and D’Addario Reserve).
This particular example is the mouthpiece that got me into conservatoire and through my first two years of studying before going down the vintage Selmer Soloist rabbit-hole. Very good intonation and immediate response.
This mouthpiece has previously been buffed to remove some discolouration, but a good deal remains around the shank and logo which is well worn. The facing is still original and untouched.
Tip Opening: 1.52mm.
